Project Life Week 13

Here's week 13.  It's kind of  a mish mash of colors.  Not my favorite, but it's done.

and in the process of working on project life this week, i've become completely addicted to Downtown Abbey.  I had been watching all the seasons of Dexter while I Project life.  Sadly, I finished season 6 this week while eric was on a trip.  Note to self: watching shows about serial killers late into the night while husband is on a work trip is NOT really a sensible thing to do.  Let's just say I made sure the alarm was on and 911 was on my speed dial. 

Project Life Week 15

Still have week 14 to finish, but I thought this week would be fast.  It certainly goes much faster when using lots of 4 by 6 pictures!

This week was the 2nd half of the girls spring break-Easter prep--eggs hunts and egg dyeing.

Project Life: Spring Break

I am a little behind in my project life, but I couldn't wait to make our spring break pages.  A few of the days were in week 13 and some were in week 14.  My retentive, freakish mind let it go and decided just to make a two page spread of the trip with the rest of week 13 in a two page spread before and the rest of week 14 in a two page spread after.

I just love the colors.  So cheerful.  It was such a great trip.  

 

Project Life week 10

Finally used some more 4 by 6 photos.  It was kind of blessing my feet were hurting and I didn't ski that day.  I got some fun photos.  And, I am thankful I took photos the first ski day because on the second day, I was holding Annie's hair back over the puke bowl.  

The pages are a little brighter than this but this is the picture quality you get when you take them in the morning with your i phone on a grey, rainy seattle day.  So happy to be keeping up...but what else can you do when you can barely walk around the grocery.  But that's a story for another day.  Maybe I'll have my pity party this afternoon and blog about it. 

Project life: disney land

I've had printed pictures of disney land 2008 sitting in a draw in the den for almost 4 years now.  The thought of scrapbooking them seemed overwhelming.  I made a few pages 3 years ago, but stopped and never picked it back up.  Needing something to focus on for the girls craft weekend, I decided that maybe the project life method would be the way to go.  

I LOVE IT!!!!!

Here's what I've completed so far.

I kind of petered out on the embellishments.  The need to get them in the album outweighed the embellishing.  I am so happy that I journaled while we were there and saved some ephemera.  I also blogged quite a bit about the trip.  It was great to refer to that information so I could include journaling.

Bottom line...I am so happy I did it because the girls are absolutely LOVING going through the pages.  Annie doesn't even really remember it, so she is eating it up! I am looking forward to finishing th rest!

I got a little behind and wasn't feeling very inspired this week.  I kind of just threw stuff in. But, it is what it is, right?

PL week 7

Finally finished up week 7 today.  We were having too much fun over the weekend and through tuesday.  The girls had mid winter break, getting friday through tuesday off from school.  We had such a great time.  The girls did a great job skiing. Annie hit a big milestone...she finally, on the 2nd of our 3 days, rode the chair lift.

It only took her ski instructor asking her if she was ready for the lift.

Well, that and 1 1/2 ski seasons, bribes of big chocolate chip cookies baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with ice cream, tears, fits and roughly 10 private 1:1, 2 hour lessons.  

You know...that's all.

We had a very fun Valentine month. Lots of valentine making for all of our different friends and teachers.  

On Valentine's day, the girls toughed it out by getting up early and heading to the local doughnut shop to get doughnuts for the staff appreciation breakfast that morning.  We set up the breakfast, had a PTA sponsored fun run, Annie's valentine party, Gracie's valentine party, dance class and then a fantastic dinner at home with daddy. When he walked through the door carrying cutie little bags from the HELLO KITTY store, I thought the girls were going to pass out from the excitement.  He went out and bought them the sweetest little themed valentines from the HK store.  Tuxedo Sam  for Gracie and Hello Kitty for Annie.  For dinner we had a gluten free beef, cheese and noodle bake-minus the cheese for me.  pffft.  and broccoli.  For dessert we had fondue.  It's one of our perfect meals that every one eats.  Definitely not fancy, but it made us all happy.

Project Life week 6

Another week complete.  As this project progresses, I realize that I am taking more time to pay attention to the small moments that occur every day. Like on sunday morning when the girls made their beds.  I always peek in their rooms in the morning to see what damage occurred overnight--annie sometimes gets up early and leaves a string of stuffies and toys that she plays with--As I looked in this morning, I realized that the girls have been making their beds every day for the past few weeks now.  And, while Gracie's stuffy collection on her bed stays the same, Annie's changes every day.  Side note: Annie's also taken to stuffing her toe-toe blankie behind her stack of pillows because she thinks she can't fold very well.  It's quite hilarious.

Gracie was proud of the # of laps she swam during swim team and has decided to write them down every week so she can track her progress.

Annie was concerned that the man she marries won't want the same things she wants in life. did I mention she's 7?

Hey, I like a girl that thinks ahead.  

I swam my farthest this week, so I celebrated with a big ginger molasses cookie from a local new-ish bakery.  We don't go there because of Gracie's gluten intolerance, so it was a definite indulgence. and it was so, so worth it. 

Friday night, Eric and I got another date night courtesy of De Lille and Mark Ryan wine release parties AND we were able to get last minute reservations at Barking Frog.  Simply Divine.

We finally applied for passports for the girls, you know so we can go to canada.  

And there was LOTS of valentine crafting.  Lots and lots.  So much so that I am seriously crafted out.

Well, at least until tomorrow when I start on Easter crafts. 

this here is my favorite card.  We heard this song on Kids Place Live last sunday on our way to church. PL Week 5

I wasn't really into this week's PL.  Does that happen sometimes? The first four weeks were so exciting and week 5 was just kind of normal.  Not too much to report.  Please excuse my blurry i phone photos.  I'm really just too lazy to get out the big camera, take a picture and upload.  Pffft.

And seriously, thank goodness for the Momento App.  Waiting a few extra days to put my pages together...well, let's just say I need to check my notes quite a bit.

Project Life Week 4

I had fun with PL this week.  Didn't take as many pictures, but got some good quotes that I actually remembered to write down using the Momento App.  LOVE IT!

One of the highlights this week was skiing on saturday.  The weather was terrible, so Eric and I went to the "midway" (halfway down the mountain) and had a beer together.  It was the best 45 minutes we've had to catch up in a LONG time!
