a visit with santa
gracie had a half day today so after she got home, we did the whole shower/bath/hair routine so we could be presentable for santa photos. we got there while santa was "feeding the reindeer." i told gracie the truth "he probably had to eat and go potty." i might have said poop, just to get a laugh out of her. there were only a few families ahead of us. so once he got back it didn't take long to get in to see the big guy. we made it to the front of the line and gracie immediately says "i'm scared." i shush her and tell her to keep it to herself because i don't want her scaring the younger kids, namely her sister. the gal in charge of order looks at me and says "i've never seen one her age scared." well lady...you haven't met my daughter, have you?
we got back to the staging area and watched the 2 year old scream. that didn't help. when it was our turn, i gave gracie's hand to daddy cause i was like "i'm going in. i'm taking photos. don't bug me."
annie went up there, hesitantly, but she sat on his lap.
daddy got gracie up there and she sat on his lap. bummed i didn't get a photo. mr photographer thought it would be better if gracie were standing. he was right.
i will tell you what i want for christmas, but i won't look at you.
he was a very sweet santa.
after santa we killed time at the hello kitty store while daddy went back to work. later, we met him at z'tejas for dinner. it was a bit of a wait so we missed the beginning of snowflake lane. the girls were overwhelmed (not an uncommon occurrence) they couldn't believe the snow!
annie was bummed that we missed frosty but on the way to the container store we saw rudolph.
gracie looks thrilled, huh?
we had a great night. and we topped it off with a drive by the holiday house in our neighborhood. i think we'll be doing that just about every night until they take them down!
